Obituary of MOSS, WALTER DAVID  1949 Oconee, SC
Keowee Courier, June 9, 1949
   Final rites were conducted from Hopewell Baptist Church near Seneca Thursday 
at 3 p. m. for Walter David Moss, 71, at the home of his son, Homer Moss, near 
Walhalla. The Rev. C. V. Landreth, the Rev. R. D. Willingham and the Rev. 
Ernest Sorrells officiated.  Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.  Active 
pallbearers:  Roy Crooks, Elijah Cain, Herman Long, Thad Burns, Major Burton, 
Boyd Moss.  Flower bearers:  Mary Lollis, Dot Johnson, Lucillle Evatt, Donna 
Belle Rackley, Audrey Leatherwood, Lillian Chapman, Genelle Holcombe, Betty 
Moss.  Mr. Moss is survived by six daughters, Mrs. N. H. Manus of Seneca, Mrs. 
Elmer Chapman of Seneca, Mrs. John T. Sloan of Walhalla, Mrs. Raford Sheriff of 
Seneca, and Miss Hazel Moss of Brooksville; three sons, Alvin of Walhalla, 
Homer of Walhalla, and Elbert of West Union; 17 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. 
James L. Crowe of Flat Shoals community, and one brother, Shaw Moss of Salem.
