Obituary of MILLER, HATTIE SMITH  1964 Oconee, SC

Miller Funeral Held Monday
   Hattie Smith Miller, 82, of Rt. 3, Westminster, died at Oconee Memorial 
Hospital Sunday after a long illness.  A lifelong resident of Oconee county, 
she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Sara Watkins Smith. Her husband, 
Ervin Miller, died in 1947. She wag a member at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 
and a member of the Hattie Miller Sunday School Class.  Surviving are seven 
sons, William and Ervin Miller of Westminster, Clarence, Johnny, Edward and 
Ralph Miller of Walhalla and Charlie Miller of Madison; a daughter, Mrs. Mary 
Hyder of Hendersonville, N.C.; two brothers, John Smith of Walhalla and Gries 
Smith of Westminster; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Burgess of Anderson, Mrs. 
Hannah Foster of Walhalla and Mrs. Cora Looney of Eugene, Ore.; 32 
grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were conducted 
Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev. C. G. Wyatt and Rev. Donald 
Shirely. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert and Edward 
Smith, Ray, Bobby, Donald and Joe Miller.
