James B.(sic) Lanford
   Walhalla---Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at Davenport Funeral 
home for James E. Lanford, 66, of 807 Whitner St., Anderson, who died Thursday. 
Burial was in Wolfe Stake Baptist church cemetery.    Born in Oconee county, 
son of the late E. H. and Alice Wilson Lanford, he was a member of Wolfe Stake 
Baptist Church, a retired construction worker, and a member of the Blue Ridge 
Masonic Lodge.    Surviving are two sons, Leon M. Lanford of Newton, N. C. and 
James Lanford of Dallas, Tex; a daughter, Mrs. Norma L. Opperman of Seneca; a 
brother, Harold G. Lanford of Walhalla; six sisters, Mrs. Carol Whitmire of 
Seneca, Mrs. Bruce Cole of Greenville, Mrs. J. B. Tumblin of Gray Court, Mrs. 
John Ferguson of Six Mile, Mrs. A. C. Phillips Jr. of Walhalla, and Mrs. Gary 
Butler of Greer; and four grandchildren.
