Obituary of LANFORD, ELLIOTT HENRY 1947 Oconee, SC Keowee Courier, September 26, 1947 Elliott Henry Lanford, 75-year-old farmer of the Wolf Stake community, died Sunday morning at his home following nine years of declining health. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice Wilson Lanford; six daughters, Mrs. H. R. Whitmire, Greer, Mrs. W. W. Cole, Greenville, Mrs. J. D. Tumblin, Fountain Inn, Mrs. J. T. Ferguson, Six Mile, Mrs. A. C. Phillips, Jr., Walhalla, and Miss Alma Lanford, Wolf Stake; three sons, W. M. and J. E. Lanford both of Seneca, and H. G. Lanford, Walhalla; two sisters, Mrs. M. A. Wood, Seneca, and Mrs. W. P. Poole, Woodruff; one brother, Herbert Lanford, St. Angelo, Tex.; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday afternoon by the Rev. F. M. Julian, assisted by the Rev. M. J. Stansell and the Rev. E. R. Sorrells. Interment was in Wolf Stake Baptist church cemetery. Blue Ridge Lodge, 90 A. F. M. was in charge of graveside services. The following nephews servives as pallbearers: Alvin Poole, Lamar and Gates Lanford, Carl Lanford, Keith Smith and Cliff Hendrix.
