Obituary of HANES, NELL BROWN LANFORD 1989 Oconee, SC

   Seneca--Nell Brown Hanes, 79, of Kemp, Texas, formerly of Oconee County, 
wife of James G. Hanes, died Wednesday, February 22, 1989 in Kemp. Born in 
Oconee County, She was the daughter of the late Peter Ryan and Margie Emerson 
Brown.  She was a homemaker and a member of Kemp Baptist Church.    Surviving 
are sons, James Edward Lanford of Kemp and Leon M. Lanford of Newton, N. C.; a 
daughter, Norma L. Opperman of Seneca; brothers, Robert A. Brown of Burlington, 
N. C., Roy W. Brown of Saluda and Junior R. Brown of Greenville; a sister, 
Frankie B. Sheriff of Walhalla; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 
Graveside services were at 2 p. m. Saturday at Oconee Memorial Park conducted 
by Rev. Don Smith.
