Obituary of GREEN, ROBERT LEWIS 1962 Oconee County, SC Keowee Courier, January 1, 1962 R. L. Green Rites Held Saturday R. Lewis Green, 58, a resident of the Walhalla-Westminster Hwy. died at his home Wednesday morning. He had been in poor health for several years. His death, however, was unexpected. He was a native of Oconee county, a son of the late Jasper and Mary Jane Vaughn Green. His wife, Mrs. Effie Owens Green, died in 1953. Mr. Green had worked in the weave room of Chicopee Mfg. Co. for 40 years and was a charter member of the plant's 25-year Club. He was a member of Southside Baptist church. Survivors include two sons, William B. Green of Hawaii; Dewey Green of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Holden of Walhalla and Mrs. Evelyn Garon of Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Tillman Green of Walhalla and Oscar Green of Charleston; two half-brothers, Tom Green of Walhalla and Gary Green of Salem and four grandchildren. The Rev. Harold Mullikin and the Rev. Paul Haynes conducted final rites Saturday from Southside Baptist church.
