Obituary of EDNEY, MARTHA ANNA CROWE 1959 Oconee County, SC Keowee Courier, July 15, 1959 Oconee Native Taken By Death Mrs. Anna Crowe Edney, 71, widow of Charlie Richard Edney and a well known matron of Rt. 1 Six Mile, died in a Pickens hospital last Wednesday, night. She had been in declining health for several months, seriously ill one week. Mrs. Edney was born in Oconee county, a daughter of the late Thomas and Linda Edney Crowe. She had resided in Walhalla prior to moving to the Six Mile community 18 years ago, and was a member of Welcome Baptist church. Surviving are three sons, Doyle Edney of Greenville, Walter and Lloyd Edney of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Pennemore(sic), Rt. 1, Central, Mrs. L. D. Lelley of Greenville; four brothers, Ed and Clarence Crowe, of Salem, Dyar Crowe of Landis, N.C. and Elisha Crowe of Live Oak, Calif : two sisters, Mrs. Josie Rogers of Walhalla and Mrs. Bessie Garrett of Danville, Va.; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held from Welcome Baptist church Friday. The Rev. Garland C. Sentell, the Rev. Sam Pittman the Rev. Heyward M. Brooks and the Rev. Harold B.
