Mr. Dickson was 76 years of age and was one of Oconee oldest settlers, having lived here since the Civil War. He was a Mason, and was buried by them in the West End cemetery Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. A number of Masons from Seneca, Newry and other towns were here to help in the burial ceremony. He is survived by four sons and one daughter---Wade Dickson, Paul Dickson, Earl Dickson, John Dickson and Mrs. D. P. Butler. H. S. Harkey, his son-in-law, and R. E. He was a Confederate veteran, having served faithfully by the cause of the South throughout the war. He at one time served Oconee as County Commissioner, which office he filled with fidelity and ability.
