His illness is presumed to have been brief as the telegram to his eldest brother, Mr. J. E. Dickerson, state he died of a heart attack. Deep sorrow is felt here on account of his passing as he has many relatives and friends in Westminster, where the best part of his life was spent. The deceased was 72 years old. A young man of pluck, energy and good habits, he made a fine impression with all with whom he came in contact. He was ambitious, kept busy and made steady progress. First and last during his stay here he was a merchant, farmer, operated a cotton gin, thresher, other machinery and was a dairyman. He was the first person here to purchase dairy milk cows for the purpose of selling bottled milk and delivering it on vehicles to customers. Mr. Dickerson was a member of the Methodist church from his youth. He married Miss Effie Dora Dickson forty-five years ago. She died in Detroit last August. He leaves three sons and one daughter, John Sam Dickerson, of Jacksonville, Fla., William and David Dickerson and Mrs. Clara Harbert, all of Detroit. All the children are married and there are some grandchildren. Surviving also are two brothers, James E. Dickerson of Westminster and J. G.
