Mrs. J. F. Davis Died at Her Home Near Walhalla Last Friday -She Was Well Known 
to Many.
     Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Cantrell) Davis, wife of J, F. Davis, died at her 
home near Walhalla, last Friday after a brief illness.  The announcement of her 
passing brought sorrow to many friend and relatives in various parts of Oconee. 
Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 7, 1847, being 80 years, 8 months and 18 days old. 
Some years ago she was married to J. F. Davis, well-known farmer of this 
section. She was a consistent member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church, and 
there are many besides her bereaved husband and other relatives, who will 
sorrow at her passing.  Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. F. 
B. Estes, and interment was made in the Bethel cemetery on Saturday.
