DEATH OF MRS. CLARRISSA ELIZABETH DICKSON
    Westminster mourns the passing of one of her beloved women and one who had 
lived in the town for upwards of thirty-five years.  Death came to Mrs. 
Clarrissa E. Dickson at one o'clock last Thursday morning, bringing much 
sadness to all who had known and loved Mrs. Dickson so long.  Mrs. Dickson had 
not enjoyed good health for several years, being a sufferer of Bright's 
disease, but many of her friends did not know she was critically ill.  She had 
been confined to her room and bed since a few weeks before Christmas.  Born and 
reared in the South Union section of Oconee, Mrs. Dickson was well known and 
possessed scores of friends who can bear testimony to her estimable traits of 
character and her sunny disposition.  Her father was the late Samuel Reeder and 
of his large family one son, Mr. John L. Reeder, survives.  Mrs. Dickson was 
widow of John Milton Dickson, who died twenty-five years ago last August and 
whose resting place in our cemetery s marked by one of the handsome monuments 
erected by the Woodmen of the World.  Mr. Dickson is remembered as one of the 
first saw mill men of the town and lent a hand to the upbuilding of Westminster 
in various ways.  Mrs. Dickson was married August 31, 1871.     The deceased is 
survived by four children and twelve grandchildren; the children being Mrs. W. 
A. Dickerson, Mr. Samuel W. Dickson, Mrs. O. K. Poore and Mr. W. Aden Dickson.  
Mrs. Poore lives at Belton.  After appropriate funeral services conducted at 
her late residence by her pastor, Dr. Ira E. D. Andrews, the interment was made 
in the family plot in Eastview cemetery.  Mr. John M. McCoy, of the Shelton 
Furniture company, was funeral director.  The pall bearers were Messrs. S. F. 
Reeder, F. M. Cross, E. G. Poore, J. S. Carter, J. E. Gaines and Ira S. Pitts.  
Many beautiful floral emblems were on the casket.     Mrs. Dickson was a 
consistent member of the Westminster Baptist church.  She was 78 years old her 
last birthday, having been born September 10, 1845.  To the children and 
brother is extended the condolence of a large circle of friends and 
acquaintances.
