Obituary of CRISP, MARY ANN TAYLOR 1901 Oconee County, SC Keowee Courier, February 20, 1901 Death of Mrs. Mary Ann Crisp (should be Nancy Ann) Mrs. Mary Ann Crisp, wife of Robt. Crisp, died at her home in Walhalla last Friday night at 11:50 o'clock, after a brief illness. She was seventy years of age, having been born August 25, 1831. She was a daughter of the late Abraham Taylor, of Tennessee, who with his family, moved to North Carolina. While living in the latter State she was married to Mr. Robt. Crisp in 1847. Many years ago they moved to this county, and resided in Walhalla some eighteen years. In early life, Mrs. Crisp joined the Baptist church, and for more than fifty years had been a consistent member of that church, and her life was that of an humble and consecrated Christian. She leaves a husband, seven children and a number of grandchildren to mourn their loss. Mrs. Crisp was held in the highest esteem by al who knew her, and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to her family in their sore bereavement. On Sunday afternoon the funeral services were conducted in the Baptist church by Rev. G. F. Clarkson, of the Methodist church. The remains were followed to the cemetery by a large concourse of sorrowing friends to pay the last sad tribute to this departed mother in Israel. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
