Obituary of COWAN, MAUDE OLIVE  1947 Oconee County, SC

   Miss Maude Olive Cowan, 38, died at her home in the Flat Shoals section of 
Oconee county Thursday morning.  Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene 
E. Cowan; three sisters, Mrs. Jess Wilson, Salem, Mrs. Ernest Oliver, Walhalla, 
and Mrs. William J. Tuberville, Walhalla; and one brother, Hugh Cowan, 
Travelers Rest.  Funeral services were conducted at Bethel Presbyterian Church 
Friday at 3 p. m. by the Rev. Robert DuPre and the Rev. J. B. Sloan. Interment 
followed in the church cemetery.      Pallbearers included Fred Wilson, Arrow 
Arve, Hunter Marcengill, Joe Turbeville, Burton Duncan, Alton Grogan.  Flower 
bearers were Mrs. Paul Rogers, Mrs. John Nichols, Mrs. Rufus Head, Mrs. Lewis 
Towe, Miss Alice Towe, and Miss Margaret Wilson.
