Obituary of CLEVELAND, MAUDE ABBOTT 1955 Oconee County, SC Keowee Courier, January 19, 1955 Cleveland Rites Held At Seneca Mrs. Maude A. Cleveland, 77, widow of J. R: Cleveland, died at Anderson Memorial Hospital Saturday, morning. She had been in declining health several months. Mrs. Cleveland was a lifelong resident of Oconee county and for the past 30 years had lived in Seneca. She was a member of the Seneca Baptist church, was active in the TEL Class and the WMS as long, as her health permitted. She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. G. C. Fowler, of Westminster; Mrs. P. C. Skelton, of Seneca, Mrs. John B. Rogers, of McCall, Mrs. Alvin H. Jones, of Greenville, Misses Consuelo, Reta Mae and Maude Lee Cleveland, all of the home; two sons, J. B. Cleveland, of Seneca. and Marshal D. Cleveland, of Westminster; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Seneca Baptist church Sunday by the Rev. J. Aubrey Estes in association with the Rev. Preston Garrett. Burial was in the Mountain View cemetery. Active pallbearers: Earl Nicholson, George Fowler, Ray Cochran, Joe Senn, Calvin Palmer, Frank McLees, Lawrence Wainland. The following deacons of the Seneca Baptist church composed the escort of honor: Harrison Carnes, E. H Lowery, R. P. Sorrels, Douglas Bradbury, Jewel Adams, Clayton Collins, Lloyd Bell and John von Kaenel, also Dr. L. E. Mays, Dr W. A Strickland, H. H. Macauley, A M.
