Obituary of COX, JULIA 1924 Oconee County, SC Keowee Courier, January 1, 1924 Miss Julia Cox Dies on Christmas Day On the morning of December 26th between the hours of twelve and one O'clock Miss Julia Cox died at her home about three miles North of Westminster. She had been a patient sufferer for the past six or seven years and her death had been expected several weeks. Miss Cox had been confined to her home and her room for several years, but bore her affliction with great fortitude and resignation. She lost her eyesight some four or five years ago and was tenderly cared for in her helpless condition by her twin sister, Miss Nettie Cox and her elder sister, Miss Rossie Cox. She was a daughter of Andrew P. Cox and Mrs. Caroline Rholetter Cox both of whom died the year 1901. Since then the three sisters had lived together at the old homestead. Miss Cox united with the Methodist church early in life and at the time of her death was a member of the Bethel church near her late home. She was highly esteemed by a host of friends and relatives and her death is a source of sorrow to all. She had lived all her life in the community in which she passed away and was affectionately known by a large number. She leaves two brothers, Mr. John L. Cox and Mr. E. P. Cox and two sisters, Misses Rossie and Nettie Cox who will greatly miss their sister. May they be comforted by the knowledge of Jesus Christ who make it possible to meet loved ones again. Funeral services were held in the home Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. B. Kilgore of the Methodist church and assisted by Rev. T. D. Cartledge of the Presbyterian church. The interment was in Eastview cemetery by the side of the grave of her parents. Mr. John Ansel of Walhalla was the undertaker in charge of the burial. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends is extended to the bereaved sisters and brothers. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
