Oconee Native Laid To Rest
   Mrs. Callie Dorsey Cannon, 79, widow of Paul M. Cannon, died in a Rock Hill 
hospital Friday after three years of declining health and five days of illness. 
Born in Oconee county, daughter of the late William H. and Melinda Kelly 
Dorsey, she had lived in Clemson since 1935 and was a member of Holy Trinity 
Episcopal Church.  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. L. V. Boyd of Pineville, 
N. C., Mrs. J. F. Sutton of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. William C. Whitten Jr. of 
Clemson; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Dorsey; and nine grandchildren.  Funeral 
services were conducted Saturday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church by Rev. John 
W. Arrington III. Burial was in Old Stone Church cemetery,  Pallbearers were 
Tom Gordon, A. C. Whitten Jr., Jack Goodman, Jim Tillotson, Morrison Hunnicutt 
and L. T. Fuller.
