COX, BERTHA THOMPSON

   WALHALLA - Bertha Thompson Cox, 78, of Route 1, Zion Community, widow of 
Jesse J. Cox, died Monday.  Born in Oconee County, she was a member of Rocky 
Knoll Baptist Church.  Surviving are sons, Knight Cox of Walhalla, Jim Cox of 
Seneca, Jack Cox of Newport News, Va.; brother, Henry Thompson of Westminster; 
nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.  Services will be at 2 p.m. 
Wednesday at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church with burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist 
Church Cemetery.  Davenport Funeral Home was in charge.
