Mrs. Abbott, 78, Taken By Death
   Mrs. Sallie Tims Abbott, 78, of Seneca, died Thursday following several 
months of declining health and a brief critical illness.  She was a native of 
Oconee county, the daughter of the late Jesse T. and Harriet Vinney Owens 
Timms.  She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and the Seneca Legion 
Auxiliary.     Her husband, J. B. Abbott, died in 1963.  She was the last 
surviving member of her family, and is survived by a number of nieces and 
nephews.  Funeral services were held in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home 
Saturday by Rev. S. A. Phillips.  Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park.  
Pallbearers: Harold Abbott, Corky Mauldin, Jess, Wade and Boyce Timms, Dana 
Moore.
