Obituary of ALBERTSON, SALLIE MOORE VAUGHN 1940 Oconee County, SC Final Services For Mrs. Albertson Seneca---Last services for Mrs. Sallie Vaughn Albertson, 78, were conducted at 3:30 p. m. from Stamp Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. S. N. Bolding officiated assisted by the Rev. R. R. Sassard and the Rev. A. E. Osborne. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Albertson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. U. Bryant on East Main St., at 1 p. m. Sunday after several months' declining health and a week's serious illness. Mrs. Albertson was born in the Stamp Creek section of the county, the daughter of the late Butler and Lettie Littlejohn(sic) Vaughn. She was a lifelong resident of the county and the oldest member of the Stamp Creek Baptist Church. Grandsons served as pallbearers and granddaughters were flower-girls. Her husband, the late James Thomas Albertson, died July 3, 1940. Surviving are six daughters and four sons, Mrs. C. U. Bryant, Mrs. Ark Hunnicutt, Mrs. C. C. Moody, Mrs. Ed Hopkins, Mrs. Marshall Lanford and Mrs. J. T. Barker, all of Seneca; four sons, John Albertson of Seneca, Coke Albertson of Salem, Jerd P. Albertson, of Newry, and Frank Albertson of Anderson; a sister, Mrs. W. T. Holcomb of Toccoa, Ga.; 46 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren also survive. ************************************************************************ Copyright.
