Obituary of ABBOTT, MARY MOLLIE   1874 Oconee County, SC

    Died in Hood County, Texas, on the 8th of February, 1874, Miss Mollie M. 
Abbott, in her 80th year.  She was attacked with Pneumonia, which in four short 
days, completed its ravages and left her remains to be laid in the dust, and 
her pure spirit to wing its way homeward and heavenward. The subject of this 
notice made a profession of religion some eight or ten years ago, and attached 
herself to the Baptist church, where she remained until called away to join the 
celestial choir.  Her estimable traits of character won for her many friends, 
and those who knew her best loved her most.  When her last hours on earth were 
closing, and the grim monster death, came with the summons, she met him with a 
smile, and sweetly fell a sleep.
But we'll meet thee once more,
     When the toils of life with us is o'er;
Thou art gone only a while before,
     Yes, we'll meet thee on Cannan's(sic) bright shore.
