The Rev. Dr. Aubrey Floyd and the Rev. Larry Roberts officiated and burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Picking, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Chester County Hospital. Born in Lincoln, Neb. on Jan. 4, 1920, he was a son of the late Elton Ray Picking and Mary Elizabeth Schremser Picking. A member of First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Mr. Picking was retired from J.P. Stevens Company and was a graduate of North East High School in Lincoln, Neb. Mr. Picking was also a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Survivors include his son, Jonathan Picking of Macon, Ga.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Picking of Sacramento and Bill Picking of Wildomar, Calif. He was predeceased by his wife, Annie Lee Temple Picking. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 606 Dearborn St., Great Falls.
