The Rev. Steve Sanders officiated and burial followed in Unity Cemetery. Mrs. Helms, 77, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Piedmont Medical Center. Born in Madison, Ga. on Sept. 10, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Kidd and Lila Carrouth Kidd. She was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Community Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Simeon Fred Helms; a daughter, Carolyn Helms and her husband, Clark, of Fort Mill; four brothers, Billy B. Kidd, Carroll Kidd and Gary Kidd, all of Fort Mill, and Wayne Kidd of Great Falls; two sisters, Elizabeth Epps and Frances Neal, both of Fort Mill; three grandchildren, Annette Corron, Tonja Lewis and Heather Cole; and five great-grandchildren, James Lewis, Amanda Lewis, Brooke Cole, Caleb Corron and William Cole. Memorials may be made to Community Presbyterian Church, 600 North White St., Fort Mill, S.C. 29715.
