TITLE: Gloria Pittman Green SOURCE: The News and Reporter SUBMITTED BY: The News and Reporter FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, Jan 2003 *********************************************************************** Mrs. Gloria Pittman Green, 73 GREENVILLE — The funeral for Mrs. Gloria Pittman Green of 20 Marcal St. Apt. 19 was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Dr. Grady L. Green officiated and was assisted by Dr. Melvin Aiken and the Rev. Rueben Shephard. Burial followed in Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Mickey Barnes and the Rev. Tommy Williams. Mrs. Green, 73, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital. A native of Rock Hill, she was a daughter of the late John B. Pittman and Eunice Privette Pittman. She served beside her husband, Dr. Grady L. Green, in his ministry for 49 years throughout South Carolina, Virginia and Florida and also served as Sunday school teacher for the adult ladies class at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mrs. Green was also an interpreter for the deaf ministry and was a fifth grade teacher at Tabernacle Christian School for 7 years. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1995, played the piano and organ and sang in many church services. Survivors include her husband of 56 1/2 years, Dr. Grady L. Green; three daughters, Bobbi Perry and her husband, JL, and Pat Stephens and her husband, Don, all of Duncan, and Joy Quintilliani and her husband, John, of Greer; a sister, Joyce Johnson of Chester; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Harriet Roof of Chester.
