Dr. Clarence Fouse officiating. Ms. Anderson, 97, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at her residence. A native of Chester County, she was a daughter of the late James R. Anderson and Margaret Ford Anderson. A retired bookkeeper with Carolina Garden and Farm Company, Ms. Anderson was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gastonia. A graduate of Asheville Normal School of Teaching, Ms. Anderson was a member of the Pilot Club and attended Peabody College. She taught third grade in Forrest City, N.C. and then transferred to the Gaston County school system. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Covenant Village, 1351 Robinwood Road, Gastonia, N.C. 28054 or to the charity of one’s choice.
