Wake services will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Marshel's Wright-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Word of Faith Outreach Ministry, Burton, with burial in New Hope Cemetery, Burton. Mr. Rivers was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Beaufort, a son of Queen Esther George and Bennie Rivers Sr. He was a 1952 graduate of Shanklin School. He was a welder retired from Bethlehem Steel, New York. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Rivers. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Rivers of Brooklyn; four daughters, Linnette Rivers and Michelle Rivers of Brooklyn, Lt. Col. Irene White of Fayetteville, Ga. and Barbara Rivers of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sons, Bennie Rivers III, Fred Rivers and John Rivers of Brooklyn; eight sisters, Inez Singleton, Julia Green and Irene Furman of Beaufort, Walterine Conyers of Rincon, Ga., Mary Shannon of Brooklyn, Etha Harston, of Chicago, Il., Sollene McKie of Rock Hill, and Cynthia Parker of Jacksonville, N.C.; a brother Harvey Rivers Sr. of Burton; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. *********************************************************************************************** NOTICE: Printing the files within by non-commerical individuals and libraries is encouraged, as long as all notices and submitter information is included.
