MORGANTON, N.C. -- Robert Yates Phillips, 86, of Morganton, died Nov. 
30, 1997, in Grace Ridge Healthcare Facility, Morganton. Graveside 
memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Helena's Episcopal
Church cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
, a son of Elise Olcott Phillips and Osmund Phillips. He attended 
Columbia College. He was in the civil service and served as city 
manager of Beaufort from 1952-54. He served in the U.S. Navy during 
World War II. He was a member of St. Helena's Episcopal Church. 
Memorials may be made to St. Helena's Episcopal Church Building Fund, 
P.O. Box 1043, Beaufort, SC 29901.
Anderson Funeral Home is in charge.
