TITLE: Dessie Gasperson Murray SOURCE: The News and Reporter SUBMITTED BY: The News and Reporter FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, Oct 2002 *********************************************************************** Mrs. Dessie Gasperson Murray, 87 FORT LAWN – The funeral for Mrs. Dessie Gasperson Murray will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Fort Lawn Baptist Church. The Rev. Ted L. Hodges and the Rev. Larry Gooch will officiate and burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park. Mrs. Murray, 87, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at the Lancaster Convalescent Center, where she was a resident. Born in Asheville, N.C. on July 28, 1915, she was a daughter of the late James M. Gasperson and Martha Woods Gasperson. She was a homemaker and member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Herbert Murray and his wife, Joanne, of Fort Lawn; two daughters, Barbara Gaston and her husband, Frank, and Sandra Gooch and her husband, Mike, all of Fort Lawn; a sister, Irene Coy of Arden, N.C.; five grandchildren, Richard Lee Gaston, Daryl Murray, the Rev. Larry Gooch, Christine Godfrey and Lisa Catoe; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence E. Murray; four brothers, Abraham, Ernest, Mans and Kynzer Gasperson; and four sisters, Neaner Banks, Lillie Kyle, Addie Wrenn and Marie Case.
