Larry Roberts officiating. Mrs. Melton, 82, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, in Longwood, Fla. Born in Hickory Grove on July 4, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Robert Earl Black and Maggie Estes Black. She attended Chester County schools and was a retired credit investigator. Survivors include three daughters, Pettus Money of Redsprings, N.C., Dottie Grimes of Stedman, N.C. and Donna Leo of Longwood, Fla.; a sister, Erline Wilkerson of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Dwight Melton. Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
