The Rev. Lee Teal will officiate and the Rev. Marty McNinch and the Rev. Mamie Mitchum will assist. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road. Mr. Hawkins, 60, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, in Columbia. Born in Asheville, N.C., he was a son of the late George Hawkins and Cora Johnson Hawkins. A retiree of Metromont Materials, Mr. Hawkins was also a retired professional wrestler known as Honest Doug. He was a member of Cornerstone Family Worship in York. Survivors include his wife, Billie Teal Hawkins; a son, Douglas "Doug" McArthur Hawkins Jr. of Chester; six daughters, Terri Ford and her husband, Joe, and Pat McWaters and her husband, Doug, all of Chester, and Brenda Fain and her husband, Charles, Linda Woody and her husband, Lorenzo, Francis "Teresa" Knighton and Louise Fowler, all of Spartanburg; two brothers, Richard Hawkins of Spartanburg and Wade Hawkins of Rock Hill; a sister, Joyce Magnum of Union; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 155 E. White St., Rock Hill, and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Chester Active Adult Daycare, 609 Columbia Road, Chester. Greene Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
