Prince Brown Sr. Published Sat, Oct 19, 2002 BURTON -- The Rev. Prince Brown Sr., 82, of Burton, husband of Sarah Lee Brown, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Bay View Nursing Center. Wake services will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Burton. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Beaufort National Cemetery. The Rev. Brown was born Dec. 15, 1919, in Burton, a son of Cecelia Campbell Brown and Captain Brown. He was a member of Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Burton, where he was a member of the Deacon Board until being called into the ministry. He pastored several churches including Second Gray's Hill Baptist Church, St. James Baptist Church, Bethlehem Baptist Church and St. John Baptist Church. He was an active member of the Old Baptist Association, the Beaufort Ministerial Alliance and Burton Masonic Lodge No. 9. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired civil service plumber. He also owned and operated a community grocery store. He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald "Boochie" Brown. Survivors include his wife, of Burton; five daughters, Lenora Colbert of Manhattan, N.Y., Delores Clark of Bronx, N.Y., Gloria Jackson and Claudia Scott of Beaufort and Geraldine Simmons of El Paso, Texas; five sons, Dr. Prince Brown Jr. of Cincinnati, Frederick Brown and Marvin Brown of Columbia, Josie L. Brown of Atlanta, and Roy R.
