TITLE: Mary McClinton Beaty SOURCE: The News and Reporter SUBMITTED BY: The News and Reporter FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, Oct 2002 *********************************************************************** Mrs. Mary McClinton Beaty, 103 GREAT FALLS – The funeral for Mrs. Mary McClinton Beaty of 5257 George Beard Ave. was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. J.A. McFarlan, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Washington Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Beaty died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002 at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. She was 103 and was believed to have been the oldest living resident of the Great Falls area. Born in Chester County of May 12, 1899, Mrs. Beaty was a daughter of the late Sylvesta McClinton and Lucinda Patterson McClinton. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she served as a mother leader. She was also a member of the senior choir, was a missionary and a member of the Pine Grove Christian Burial Aid Society. Survivors include three sons, Calvin Beaty of Parsippany, N.J., Willie Beaty and wife, Earlene, of Rock Hill, and Frank Beaty and wife, Mary G., of Great Falls; three daughters, Susie B. Ford of the home, Essie Phoenix and husband, Gabriel, of Rock Hill, and Maggie Caldwell of Concord, N.C.; 25 grandchildren including a grandson whom she reared, James Pete Beaty of Lancaster; several great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Etherlene Beaty of Rock Hill and Louise Beaty of Boonton, N.J.; and two Godchildren, Darryl Washington and Bertheia “Cookie” Washington, both of Great Falls.
