Entered into eternal rest on October 9, 2001, Joe Franklin Yates, 65, 
husband of Jacquelyn Bass Yates. Residence, Charleston, S.C. The 
relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Franklin Yates are invited 
to attend the funeral services of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., 
WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Friday morning, October 12, 2001, at 11 o'clock. 
Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. Henry 
Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, Thursday evening from 6 until 8 
o'clock. Mr. Yates was born in Columbus, Ga., the son of Joe Lindsey 
and Louise Crowder Yates. He was a taxi driver for Checker Cab Company.
He was a former member of the Army National Guard. Surviving are his 
wife of Charleston, S.C.; two sons, Joe Randall Yates and William 
Timothy Yates, both of Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Charles Perry 
Yates of Summerville, S.C.; one sister, Shirley Ann Yates of Florida; 
one daughter-in-law, Patricia Yates; one grandson, Johnny Randall 
Yates; one granddaughter, La Teisha Diane Yates. Mr. Yates was 
preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lindzey Yates, Sr. (Published
