Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2001, 3:00 p.m. in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC, with burial in the Blackville Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Folk Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blackville Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 365, Blackville, SC 29817. Mrs. Whittle was born in Barnwell County, SC, a daughter of the late Harry D. and Susie Dyches Cain. She was a Christian and a lifetime member of the Healing Springs Baptist Church, a self-giving homemaker and was food service manager for the family business. She was married to the late Mark Briggs Whittle. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Hennis and Dorothy W. Garvin of Hampton, SC, daughter Sara Jane Whittle of Healing Springs and Summerton, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Mack Blane and Robin Whittle of Wagener, SC; sisters, Mrs. Virginia Bass of Dalton, GA, Betty Sue Gregory of Owensboro, KY; and brother, Bernard Cain of Columbia, SC. She was the proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased in death by a daughter, Harriet Delano Williams; son, Robert Harry Whittle; sisters, Doris Gardner, Ruby Montgomery; and brothers, Gordon Cain, Briggs Cain, D.J. Cain.
