The relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2001, at the Church of the Nativity at 1061 Folly Road. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at the JAMES A. MCALISTER FUNERAL HOME, 1620 SAVANNAH HWY. The Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. Mr. Walker was born Wednesday, October 7, 1936, in Memphis, Tenn., the son of the late Harvey and Sally Walker. Mr. Walker was Catholic and an active member of the Church of the Nativity. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 46 years, Cynthia Elizabeth Walker. He was the devoted father of Sharon Clair, Cindy Walker, Fran Lingenfelter, Maria Lugo, Wesley Walker and Travis Walker; three sons-in-law, Michael Clair, Barry Lingenfelter, and David Lugo, all of Charleston, S.C. Survivors also include seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Harvey Walker and Richard Walker; five sisters, Ophelia Balentine, Frances Walker, Naomi Hagan, Patsy Arceneaux and Dian Cease.
