He was the devoted husband of Mrs. Lucille Deas Thompson. He was the son of Mr. Samuel Thompson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Cecilia Manigault Thompson. The step-son of Mrs. Mary Alice Thompson. He was the devoted father of Ms. Lillian Brown, Mrs. Cecilia Ann T. Grubb (Lee), Mr. Kirby Thompson, Ms. Pamela Barnes, Mr. Darrell Thompson, Mr. Bobby Steed, Ms. Barbara Green and Ms. Vermateen Mitchell. The loving brother of Mr. Tennyson Thompson (Pat), Mr. Gerald Thompson (Laurel), Mr. Clayton Thompson and Mrs. Carolyn T. Andrews (Willie). The nephew of Mr. Isaac Thompson.
