(Published Oct 28, 2001) STEWART, Nellie INDIANTOWN, SC - Nellie Bartell Stewart, died Saturday, October 27, 2001 in a Lake City Hospital. Mrs. Stewart was born in Indiantown, SC, a daughter of the late John Hampton Bartell and the late Sarah Coleman Bartell. She was a retired school teacher for 39 years, having taught at Lake View, Lake City, Hemingway, Indiantown and Williamsburg Academy. She taught at Indiantown Elementary for 26 years and was principle for 4 years. She was a graduate of Indiantown High School, Lander College and received her masters in education from the University of South Carolina, a member of the Indiantown Presbyterian Church, sang in choir for 30 years and was the pianist for the Men's Bible Class. Surviving are 18 nieces and nephews, 50 grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday in the Indiantown Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Indiantown Church Kindergarten, 4865 Hwy. 512, Hemingway, SC 29554.
