We sorrowfully regret to inform you that Mrs. Alma K. Simmons, widow 
of Jordan M. Simmons, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, 
October 7, 2001, at her residence, 130 Jordan Simmons Road, Summerville,
SC. The last religious rites for Mrs. Alma K. Simmons will be held, 
Tuesday, October 9, 2001, 11:00 a.m. at Baum's Temple AME Zion Church, 
Rev. George E. McKain, II, Pastor, Eulogistic Minister. Interment 
Brownsville Cemetery. Her daughters, Verdell (Leroy) Glover, Beatrice 
Henderson, Virginia (Marshall) Ketchens, Margaret Boone, Geraldine 
(Ernest) Moultrie; niece, Courtland (William) Mackey; daughter-in-law, 
Gladys Simmons Suddeth; sister-in-law, Julia Viola Kitchen; request 
her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, 
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to attend with 
them these last rites. Mrs. Simmons will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. 
until time of service. There will be viewing following services. In 
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baum's Temples AME Zion 
Church Building Fund, 943 West 1st North St., Summerville, SC 29483.

Alex Gantt, sisters-in-law, Mrs. Wilhelmina Gantt, Mrs. Mary Gantt, 
and Ms. Alice Simmons, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and 
friends are invited to attend her funeral services Wednesday, October 
17, 2001, 12 noon, at Morris Street Baptist Church, 25 Morris Street, 
Charleston, S.C. Interment, First Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. 
Patrick Charles Luke, Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, officiating. 
Rev. Dr. Nelson B. Rivers, III, Eulogist. Remains will lie in state at 
Morris Street Baptist Church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour 
of service. Family will be receiving friends this evening (Tuesday) at 
Bethany Baptist Church, 790 Meeting Street, Charleston, S.C., from 7 
to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Bethany Baptist
Church Building Fund, 790 Meeting Street, Charleston, S.C., or to
