Nelms, died Tuesday, October 2, 2001, in Bamberg, S.C. Memorial service will be held in the COONER FUNERAL HOME, Saturday, October 6, 2001, at 2 p.m., in Bamberg, S.C. Mrs. Nelms was the daughter of the late Willie Collis Davis and the late Laura Frances Hooker Davis. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. She was an employee at Bamberg Textile Mill for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet, gardening, and was a homemaker. Survivors include, two daughters, Margie Dianne Nelms of Bamberg, and Emily Caroline Hamlin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; one son, Richard Nelms of Savannah, Ga.; three sisters, Lila Mae Davis of Bamberg, Minnie Lou Taylor of Bamberg, Mildred Louise Hoffman of Bamberg; one brother, Joe Morgan Davis of Bamberg; three grandchildren, Erica Danielle Nelms of Lodge, S.C., Jonathan Aston Hamlin of Ridgecrest, Calif., Kyle Murray Hamlin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; 23 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William L. Davis of Neeses, Marion Davis of Bamberg, Harold Davis of Winter Park, Fla. Donations may be made to S.C. Hospice Association.
