Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 14, 2 p.m., at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Holly Hill, S.C. Rev. Venning Long, Rev. Barry Owens, and Rev. Mike Lowry will officiate. Burial in church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Mrs. Mitchum was born February 9, 1917, in Lake City, S.C., a daughter of the late Patrick Barfield and Mrs. Minnie Welch Barfield. She was a Baptist and the widow of Steve Mitchum. Survivors include, six daughters, Mrs. Pearline Koone of Reddick, Fla., Mrs. Myrtle Robinson of Moncks Corner, Mrs. Rebecca Barrickman of Ridgeville, Mrs. Linda Henderson of High Point, N.C., Mrs. Stella Roden of Anthony, Fla., and Mrs. Evelyn Cook of Moncks Corner; two sons, Heyward Mitchum of Orange Lake, Fla., and Steve B. Mitchum of Ravenel; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Parker of Kingstree; 38 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call at AVINGER FUNERAL HOME, from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, and other times at the home.
