Lowrimore, Sr., 92, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at a Cheraw, S.C., hospital. Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Calvin and Barzilla Sing Lowrimore. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, having served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Lowrimore was a W.W.II Army veteran. Survivors are, wife of 73 years, Lillie Maude Hopkins Lowrimore, Cheraw, S.C.; son, Roy Lowrimore, Jr., Hickory, N.C.; daughter, Norma L. Lundy, Darlington, S.C.; daughter, Artha L. Sompayrac, Hanahan, S.C.; sister, Mary Chavis, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by grandson, Michael Sompayrac, four brothers, and six sisters. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2001, at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, S.C. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2001, in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, S.C. Memorials to Westside Baptist Church Building Fund, 105 Claremont St., Cheraw, S.C. 29520.
