HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at 2:30 o'clock. Entombment, Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Saturday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. Mr. Lipe was born in Asheville, NC, a son of Frank Lipe and Rowena Goodlake Lipe. He was retired owner/manager of Lipe Sheet Metal in Charleston and was a sheet metal draftsman/planner at Charleston Naval Shipyard during WWII. He was employed for over 30 years at Charleston Sheet Metal and Roofing Company as shop manager. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Lipe Shaw of Charleston, SC; two sons, Joe H. Lipe, Jr. of Spring, TX and Jerome Grant Lipe of Spartanburg, SC; a sister, Louise Lipe Moore of Oak Ridge, TN and thirteen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. Mr. Lipe was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Grant Lipe and a son Frederick David "Rick" Lipe.
