Pleasant, S.C., died October 13, 2001, at his residence. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 16, 2001, in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 3 o'clock. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens with full military honors.Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, Monday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock where a Trisagion Service will be held at 7 o'clock. Mr. Laskovitch was born in Montville, Conn., a son of Ignatz and Matruna Laskovitch. He was married to Mary A. Laskovitch for 50 years and two months before she passed away on June 29, 1999. Mr. Laskovitch retired from the U.S. Marine Corp as a Gunnery Sergeant in 1963. He was a Veteran of World War II serving under General Mark Clark during the invasion of Italy. He also served during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. He was a Russian Orthodox and faithful parishioner at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and a member of East Cooper Outboard Motor Club.Surviving are his daughters, JoAnn Duncan of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Kathy Neary of Awendaw, S.C., his sisters, Helen Vucelich of Shadyside, Ohio, and Olga Rosso of Torrington, Conn., and his grandchildren, Lindsay Duncan, Kelly Bridges and Michael Bridges.
