Federal services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Richmond Drawdy officiating. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Cemetery.Mrs. Johnston was born in Green County, Pa., and was a daughter of Theodore R. Bennett, and Ruth Seals Bennett. She was a retired bookkeeper with Western Auto of James Island. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Colleton Rural Fire Department and a member of two Submarine Wives Clubs. She was a Baptist.Surviving are, her husband, Kenneth I. Johnston; two daughters, Deborah Marlowe and Elizabeth M. Carpenter, both of James Island; four sons, Kenneth I. Johnston, II, John William Johnston and James L. Johnston, all of James Island, and George M. Johnston of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Mary Lou Donahue of Wildwood, N.J.; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., tonight (Sunday), at the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 5000 Thurmond Mall, Suite 106, Columbia, S.C. 29201.
