WALTERBORO - Rev. Bennie Jenkins, 62, of 204 Gadsden Loop, Walterboro, 
died Monday, October 8, 2001, in Winston-Salem, NC. The funeral will 
be Friday, October 12, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Peter's A.M.E. 
Church, Walterboro. Burial will be in John Brown Cemetery, Smoaks.
Rev. Jenkins was born in Smoaks, SC and was a son of Rev. Wilson 
Jenkins and the late Josephine Florrie Williams Jenkins. He was a 
graduate of Ruffin High School and retired from J.P. Stevens Company 
in Walterboro. He was a member of St. Peter's A.M.E. Church, 
Walterboro. Surviving are four daughters, Diane Jenkins, Winston-Salem,
NC, Willie Mae Ali, Hartsford, Conn., Alfaire Ledbetter, Ft. Polk, 
La. and Ruthie Mae Jenkins, Maryland, Conn.; one sister, Dorothy 
Harris, Columbia, SC and four grandchildren. Arrangements by 
HAMILTON'S FUNERAL HOME of Walterboro. (Published Oct 11, 2001)
