TITLE: Thomas Talmadge Hill SOURCE: The Post and Courier SUBMITTED BY: The Post and Courier FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, Jun 2003 *********************************************************************** HILL, Thomas Thomas Talmadge Hill, of 887 Bracken Road, died October 25, 2001, after an extended illness.Born in Greenville County on May 29, 1916, he was a son of the late Alfred Sanders and Othella Nelson Hill.Mr. Hill retired from American Equipment Company, a division of Fluor Daniel, and was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church.He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Nettie Sue Brown Hill, in 1987.Surviving are three children, James and Joyce Gerlach Hill of Summerville, Jean and Lowell T. Boyd of Waxhaw, N.C., and Jo Ann and Dan McDaniel of Greenville. He was the beloved grandfather of six grandchildren and their spouses; Jim Hill and Jessica Hill of Summerville, Leigh and Sam Moore of Summerville, Dustin and Meredith Boyd of Charlotte, N.C., and Austin Boyd of Charlotte, N.C., and Danny McDaniel of Greenville; two brothers and their wives, Jack and Olivia Hill of Pelzer, and Fred and Mary Hill of Belton; and two sisters, Elizabeth Davenport Woodward and Louise Davenport.Graveside services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends Saturday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the MACKEY MORTUARY, CENTURY DRIVE.Memorials may be made to Shannon Forest Christian School, 633 Garlington Road, Greenville, S.C. 29615.
