The funeral service will be 2:30 o'clock Thursday, October 4, 2001 at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Stuhr funeral home this evening (Wednesday) from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. A retired foreman woodcraftsmen at Charleston Naval Shipyard, he was born in Charleston, the son of John E. and Margaret Burkett Gregory and attended school in Charleston and North Charleston. Mr. Gregory was the widower of Dorothy Carter Gregory. Mr. Gregory was a Coast Guard veteran of WWII and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. For nearly 50 years, he was an avid amateur radio operator with the assigned call sign of K4YYO and was a member of The American Radio Relay League (ARRL). He was a member of Northwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy E. Wright and his son, Woodrow "Woody" W. Gregory, Jr., both of North Charleston; his sister, Irene C. Churchill of Charleston, and seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
