GEDDINGS, Dewey
LANE, S.C. - Dewey Geddings, 82, died Wednesday at his residence.
Mr. Geddings was born in Sumter County, a son of the late William C. 
Geddings and Mrs. Dora Christmas Geddings. He attended Paxville and 
Lane schools and was a retired farmer and merchant. Mr. Geddings was 
an Army veteran of W.W.II and a member of Lane United Methodist Church.
Surviving are, his wife, Mrs. Mary Cooper Geddings of Lane; three 
daughters, Maxine Ranta of Federal Way, Wash., Gail Haddock of 
Kingstree, and Carol Newton of Andrews; one brother, Ernest Geddings 
of Charleston; two sisters, Frances McCutchen and Elizabeth Dennis, 
both of Columbia; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 
a.m., Saturday, in Lane United Methodist Church. Burial will be in 
Union Presbyterian Cemetery, directed by WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. 
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, at the 
funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lane United Methodist Church.
