Eastman, 81, of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, September 29, at a local hospital. Born in Fairhope, Ala., to the late Lee and Katherine Wade Eastman. Ms. Eastman was a retired employee with the Federal Government. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed exploring wildlife. Ms. Eastman was a member of the Unitarian Church in Charleston and also the Alhambra Hall Senior Citizen Group. She is survived by her two brothers, John W. Eastman and wife Sara, Charles H. Eastman and his wife Pat both from Columbia, a sister, Edith Eastman from Columbia and several grand-nephews and nieces survive her. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, October 2, at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1520 Rifle Range Rd. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Columbia, SC at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Unitarian Church, 4 Archdale St., Charleston, SC 29401.
