Dillon, USMC (Ret.) Mrs. Dillon was a Charleston resident since 1958. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Friday afternoon, October 26, 2001, at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at J. Henry Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, Friday afternoon, from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Mrs. Mary Emma Dillon was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., September 3, 1910, the daughter of John Samuel Gates and Gertrude Pacey Gates. She was a member of the Charleston County Realtors Association and was a retired real estate agent with the Dillon Agency. Mrs. Dillon was very active with the Navy Relief Society. Surviving are her son, Edward G. Dillon of Reston, Va.; her daughter, Margaret D. Mauch of Prairie du Sac, Wisc.; five grandchildren, Simon T. Dillon of Rockport, Mass., Grant A. Mauch of Minneapolis, Minn., Gregory E. Mauch of Madison, Wisc., Geoffrey D. Mauch of Prairie du Sac, Wisc., and Gretchen M. Mauch of Prairie du Sac, Wisc. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Megan and Zachary Dillon of Rockport, Mass. Mrs. Dillon was preceded in death by Edward J. Dillon, former Charleston County Civil Defense Director. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Navy Relief Society, 1004 Jefferson Ave., Building 717, Goose Creek, S.C. 29445-6511.
