Born April 27, 1904 in Norfolk, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Howell and Carrie Sears Bobbitt. She lived for many years in Hickory, NC, Conestee Falls, NC, and Moncks Corner, SC. She was a retired antiques dealer, former member of Business and Professional Women of Moncks Corner, Berkeley County Historical Society, lifelong Presbyterian, and a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, PCA. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Ardis and her husband Herman of Manning; one sister, Dorothy Lash of Clinton, Maryland; four grandchildren, Jerry and Thomas Riley of Ridgeville, Virginia Bailey of Memphis, TN, and Amy Ellery of Carson, Nevada; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Betty Dantzler of Athens, GA. She was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Dantzler, Jr., three brothers, Thomas, Robert and Willard Bobbitt, and one sister, Elizabeth Campbell. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Manning. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Berkeley Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner. Rev. Charles C. Tyler will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter.
